ABSTRACT
In local cities with limited budgets and personnel, it is important to simplify inspection works based on simple inspection manuals for social infrastructure structures that protect the lives of citizens. On the other hand, Japan mandates a close visual inspection once every five years, and a method for analyzing the inspection results is desirable.
In this study, the proximity visual inspection data was focused on from Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, a regional city in Japan, and conducted an analysis. Specifically, bridges were grouped by the number of years they had been constructed, separated by 10 years, and the rate of deterioration progression (transition rate) of the bridges was calculated using a Markov chain model. As a result, the differences in the deterioration rate were evaluated by the constructed year, the service periods, the bridge length, the structural type and width etc.
